On September 1, 2020, the CTE Faculty-Extensionists, under the deanship of Dr. Leonielyn Malicay, successfully conducted the initial phase of the Community Extension Project called “Building New Literacies.” The group of extensionists from CTE first went to Balite NHS to pay courtesy call to the School Principal of Balite NHS, Mr. Alberto Orias, Jr. After a short meeting, the group went to the Mamanwa Community in Brgy. Jubgan where they participated in an ethnic ritual led by their tribe senior, Mr. Bonifacio Rabuya, before focus group discussions were conducted. ENTRY 2 – College of Teacher Education (CTE) gears up for the implementation of their Community Extension Project for the empowerment of Mamanwa learners

The CTE faculty, under the leadership of Dr. Leonielyn Malicay, Dean of CTE, gathered on August 27, 2020, to prepare for the initial phase of the implementation of their Community Extension Project called “Building New Literacies.” The project is intended to address academic difficulties and build 21st Century literacies of Mamanwa learners attending Balite NHS, and their parents and their teachers. ENTRY 1 – College of Teacher Education (CTE) visits LGU San Francisco, Balite NHS, and the Mamanwa community in Brgy. Jubgan

On August 18, 2020, four CTE faculty, namely Dr. Joewaren Sulima, Overall CTE Research Coordinator, Dr. Lucille Tanguihan, BSED Program Research Coordinator, Mr. Raymon Española, Overall CTE Extension Coordinator, and Mr. Matt Sinaca, BEED Program Extension Coordinator, visit three partner organizations that will be instrumental to the conduct of the planned community extension service project for the Mamanwa learners, their parents and teachers.
