September 16, 2011, once again the students were gathered at the SSCT quadrangle for another special event. The students were all smiling and so with the faculty. Everybody was waiting for the Comedy Idol 2011 Season 2 to start. A minute after, the show started. It was participated by the six contestants of different divisions. The first contestant was from the VSSL division. They performed on stage jokingly and the audience can’t help theirselves but laughed. Almost everybody was catching their breath due to some funny movements they were doing on stage. The Engineering department followed next. Then, the third presenter came from the Education Department. The fourth presenter was from the TET division and it was followed by TQA and the last performer was still from Education Department entitled “Laugh out Loud” brought back the boring environment and the smiles on everyone’s faces.

      Without anymore delay, the judges gave the result to the host for the announcing and proclamation of winners. The third and the last presenter which were both from the Education Department won the first and second place. The VSSL got the third place; the fourth placer was the Engineering Division. The TET Division got the fifth place and lastly, the TQA took the sixth place.

      The Comedy Idol 2011 once again brought an unforgettable night to everyone as they went home.

     September 15, 2011, everybody’s eyes were glimmering. The excitement was undeniably written on everyone’s faces. The stage was beautifully decorated for a one big special event, “The Search for G. at Bb. SSCT 2011”.

    In the evening at around 7 o’clock, all the students were gathered at one destination, in the SSCT quadrangle. A minute later, the show started. Everybody was watching breathlessly as the 12 magnificent contestants ramped on stage for their production number. The three pair of contestants came from the different clusters of the main campus, while the other three was from the SSCT satellite campuses.

     The moment everybody took a glimpse on the contestants they already knew how hard it is to choose one for the crowning. Everytime the twelve contestants appeared on stage wearing their different alluring attires can’t help but made the audience shout for admiration. The tension started when the Master of Ceremony start calling the minor awardees. Mr. Renante Retorta of Malimono Campus received almost all the minor awards. Also, Ms. Nadia Sta. Iglesia of Cluster A got the title of being Ms. Congeniality, Best in Production Number, Best in Technology Wear, Best in Sports Wear, and Best in Swim Wear awards. Lastly, Ms. Christine Comon of Cluster B received the award of being the Ms. Photogenic and Best in Long Gown.

     The surrounding was getting more exciting when the question and answer portion ended. The tension aroused when the proclamation of the winners took place. The second runner-up goes to Mr. John Eric Francis Felicilda and Ms. Revilyn Regunda. The first runner-up was luckily given to Mr. John Pearl Manungas and Ms. Christine Comon, both coming from Cluster B. The most awaited part came, the crowning of G. and Bb. SSCT 2011. Unexpectedly, the crowd went silent for a second then, the voice of the host roared thunderly around the quadrangle declaring that Mr. Renante Retorta of Malimono Campus and Ms. Jirc Nadia Sta. Iglesia of Cluster A got the title of G. and Bb. SSCT 2011. The crowd had different reactions. They screamed, they yelled and some just don’t mind at all. The pictorials followed. Indeed, the crowned G. and Bb. SSCT 2011 almost have it all: beauty, body and brain. The Surigao State College of Technology is very proud of them.
